Consumer dispute settlement regulation relevant to highspeed internet quality (2019)

  • Cancellation of the contract for minors without the consent of the legal representative
  • Exchange the equipment when repaired more than 2 times due to malfunction of modem but the defect recurred(3rd)
  • When service error of more than a hour occurred more than 3 times a month or when the accumulated service error time is over 48 hours, cancel the contract without cancelation charge (including the exempted installation charge and discounts)
  • Compensation is needed for Loss due to suspension or error over 3 hours or over accumulated 12 hours a month
  • The accumulation starts from the occurrence of the service suspension, error
  • Termination of the contract without penalty in case of moving to an area where the service is not available within the contract period
  • In the case where the contract period automatically extended, in the case of termination before the expiration of the contract period of the customer, the contract is terminated without penalty
  • If the speed of the product in the previous region is less than 50% of the speed of the initial contract product, the consumer terminates the contract after 50% of the penalty

Change and pause of contract details

Change of contract details

  • If contractors try to change contract details including their names, contact information, how to pay for usage fees, service types, installation places, they should submit application forms for change and identification cards to carriers
  • If users’ positions are succeeded to others because of inheritance, the persons who succeeded to the positions should notify business operators of the facts. The business operators can ask them to send the relevant documents to protect them. And in this case, the users should submit the applicable documents to them
  • If you try to change installation places, you should ask the applicable business operators to do them and bear the expenses which are necessary for transfer

Check if the service is opened

  • The opening time is when the user confirms the opening after application of opening, or when the company notifies the opening by call, fax, e-mail, visit, mail or other means, so this fact should be aware of.
  • When a delay is expected after the user agreed the desired date, the company should notify the user by call, fax, e-mail, visit, mail or other means in advance.
  • When user is damaged due to delay without notice, the user may inquire compensation to the company. Also, when installation is delayed, the user may cancel the reservation

Pause

  • If you try to stop use of the service temporarily, you should ask the applicable business operators to do it by setting the periods
  • The condition of pause permission is different depending on the company, so confirm the clause or ask the customer service center
  • Inclusion of the pause periods in the usage periods and charges during these periods are different according to business operators. You should check the contents in contracts
