Introduce to User Protection Center for Broadcasting and Communication

Korea Communications Commission established the broadcasting communications consumer protection center in the Korea Association for ICT Promotion and opened it on Mar. 4th, 2010 for the purpose of providing information on complicated and diversified services according to rapidly changing broadcasting and communications markets, strengthening users’ capabilities through education, and establishing the user-centered competitive market structure by supporting the broadcasting and communications consumer protection policy systematically through market monitoring and analyses of damage cases.

■ The Major tasks

○ Provide useful information to make consumers select products reasonably
○ Improve consumers’ benefits, find hindrance factors, and prepare improvements
○ Monitor markets by service field including cellular phones, high speed internet, VoIP, IPTV, etc.
○ Find and improve consumers’ complaints through field surveys.
○ Induce business operators and consumers to settle disputes automously through arbitration of communication complaints between them.
